Berkeley , Calif. ?C The Arizona volleyball team dropped its third-straight match, falling to No. 6 California in three games on Friday night in Haas Pavilion.? Game scores were 30-25, 38-36 and 30-22.? The loss drops the Wildcats to 13-15, 3-12 Pac-10 while the Golden Bears improve to 21-6, 11-5 Pac-10.

As a team, Arizona hit .085 percent (38-28-118) from the floor, but finished with 10 blocks.? Cal hit .207 (51-27-116) as a team, and posted 14.5 blocks and six service aces.

Individually for the Wildcats, freshman Tiffany Owens led the team with 12 kills to go with seven digs.? Junior Randy Goodenough and sophomore Jacy Norton added seven kills apiece, and freshman Paige Weber finished with 32 assists.

Senior Angie Pressey led Cal with a match-high 19 kills on .333 (9-7-36) hitting.

Arizona hung close with the Golden Bears in game one, taking a 12-11 lead on a kill by Owens.? Cal then responded with a 6-0 scoring run to take a 17-12 lead, but the Wildcats continued to chip away and trailed by two at 21-19.? Arizona would get no closer than that, as the Golden Bears held on down the stretch for a 30-25 win.? Arizona hit .158 (11-5-38) in game one, as Cal posted a .275 percent (19-8-40) mark.

The Wildcats fought hard in game two, out playing Cal to take a 25-18 lead.? Arizona kept control of the game and had the Golden Bears at match point leading 29-26.? Cal wouldnˇ?t go down easy though, scoring three-straight points to fight off defeat and tie things up at 29-29.? The two teams would trade points from there, as the Wildcats managed a 36-35 lead.? A service error by junior Brooke Buringrud tied it back up at 36-36, and Cal put things away on an attack error by Goodenough and a service ace for a 38-36 win.

Cal held the momentum from there, taking a 16-10 at the midpoint of game three.? The Golden Bears would cruise after that, completing the sweep with a 30-22 win, holding Arizona to a -.029 (9-10-35) hitting percentage.

Arizona will travel to No. 4 Stanford for a match with the Cardinal on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. (PST).
