Taken in the 20th round of the 2002 MLB Draft by the Oakland A’s ... Was named one of The Perfect Game’s top prospects in 2001 and 2002 ... Was ranked 72nd in Team One Baseball’s 2002 Pre-Draft High School Top-100.

 

Summer 2004

Was a member of the USA Baseball National Team that won the gold medal at the 2004 World University Baseball Championship in Tainan, Taiwan ... Batted .295 with 11 runs scored, eight doubles, three triples, five stolen bases and 11 RBI in summer action.
