TUCSON--Cal State Northridge evened its record in Arizona's Worth Wildcat Invitational softball tournament at 1-1 with a 7-3 victory over Drake Friday afternoon.

A two-run home run by Summer Richardson, her second in as many games, staked CSN to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first. In the third, Amber Copelan walked, moved to second on a single and scored on Christen Bedwell's single to make it 3-0.

Bedwell drove in another run with a single in the fifth and Richardson hit a sac fly to make it 5-0.

The Bulldogs rallied in the sixth, with an RBI doubleby Jamie Waterman and a run-scoring single by Julie Moses to cut the lead to 5-2. But the Matadors answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning on an RBI single by Christy Menefee and alert base running when pinch runner Kia Fennell tagged up and scored on an infield pop-up by Joey Metz.

Drake scored an unearned run in the top of the seventh when two CSN errors allowed pinch runner Malay Bouaphakeo to score from first on two infield ground balls.
