OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- The University of Arizona softball team has arrived in Oklahoma's capital city two days before its Women's College World Series opener against Tennessee.
After departing McKale Center at 7:15 a.m. sans Coach Mike Candrea - who was already in Oklahoma City with the NFCA's All-America selection committee - the team boarded a charter flight and embarked on a two-hour plane ride into Will Rogers World Airport at 8:15 a.m.
The Wildcats landed in Oklahoma City at noon local time and bussed to the team hotel in the northwest portion of the city. From there, they headed to the WCWS opening ceremonies at the Frontier City theme park, where they also ate a buffet dinner.
Tomorrow, Candrea and K'Lee Arredondo will participate in a pre-WCWS press conference at 1 p.m., before the Wildcats have a scheduled photo shoot with ESPN.
The team will practice tomorrow at the ASA Hall of Fame complex at 2:25 p.m.
Thursday's game is scheduled for a 6 p.m. CT start time (4 p.m. Tucson time) on ESPN2.
