Arizona Men’s Golf Ranked No. 25 in Latest MasterCard Rankings; Women Remain Ranked No. 2

TUCSON, Ariz. – The University of Arizona’s men’s golf team is ranked No. 25 in the latest edition of the College Golf Foundation’s MasterCard Collegiate Golf Rankings. The Wildcat women’s golf team remains at No. 2 in the poll.

Individually, sophomore Reid Hatley is the top-ranked Wildcat at No. 41. Fellow sophomore Ricky Barnes stands at No. 48 in the this edition of the poll. Also ranked is senior Cody Beyer, who is rated No. 82.

The Arizona women’s team boasts two of the nation’s top 10 golfers in freshmen Lorena Ochoa and Natalie Gulbis. Ochoa holds down the No. 1 spot for the seventh consecutive poll, while Gulbis checks in at No. 9. Also ranked for Arizona is junior Cristina Baena, who stands at No. 21.

Arizona’s women’s golf team travels to Tempe, Ariz., this weekend to participate in the PING/ASU Invitational before beginning post-season play later this month. The men compete next at the U.S. Collegiate Championships in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, beginning Friday.
