TUCSON, Ariz. ?- Arizona football seniors Danny Baugher and Darrell Brooks have been named to the College Football News Midseason All-America First-Team, the website announced on Tuesday.

Brooks, UA’s starting free safety, paces an Arizona secondary that is second in the Pacific-10 Conference and 30th in the nation in pass defense, while also leading all Wildcat defenders with 51 total tackles (35 solo, 16 assisted) this season.

Baugher, the Division I leader in punting (48.2 ypp), has virtually eliminated all opposition punt returns. Kicking 33 times this season, Baugher has seen just 11 punts get returned, placed another 11 punts inside the opponent’s 20-yard line and has 15 kicks of 50 or more yards this year, including a career-long 76-yarder against Purdue. In back-to-back games in September, Baugher smashed the Pac-10 and school records for individual punting average (59.7 ypp vs. NAU) and team net punting (57.6 vs. Purdue). His efforts have helped lead UA to the top spot among all Division I teams in net punting average (42.0).

Arizona will square off against Oregon at Arizona Stadium this Saturday at 4 p.m.
