Arizona Volleyball unveiled its 2011 team at the Red and Blue Scrimmage on Saturday, giving fans a look at some new faces, featuring seven returners and eight freshmen.

The red team won all four sets, 25-20, 25-18, 25-23 and 25-15.

Senior Cursty Jackson (Los Angeles) led all players with 17 kills on the day with only three errors for a team-high .519 hitting percentage and recorded three solo blocks in four sets.

"There were some bright spots for sure," Arizona head coach David Rubio said. "I thought Cursty Jackson was great. She's very talented and athletic and she was a good leader out there. I think she'll be one of the best middle blockers in the league."

Freshman Madi Kingdon (Phoenix, Ariz.) also had a successful day, tallying 16 kills and eight digs in her first appearance as a Wildcat.

The red team took the first set 25-20 as Jackson and freshman Rachel Rhoades (San Diego, Calif.) recorded one solo block each. On the blue team, freshman Shaquillah Torres (Riverside, Calif.) led the blue team with four kills and freshman Ronni Lewis (San Jose, Calif.) led all players in digs with seven.

In the second set, Kingdon recorded four kills to lead both teams and give the red team a 2-0 start with a score of 25-18. On the blue team, freshman Chloe Mathis (La Jolla, Calif.) recorded nine assists.

Jackson led the red team in kills in the third set, registering seven, while Rhoades tallied four block assists for the blue team. The red team took set three 25-23.

"Overall I thought it was OK," Rubio said. "You'd like them to be a little cleaner and smoother at this point of the season, but unfortunately that's not where we're at right now. We've had some injuries that have slowed our ability to do that. We'll get there."

The Arizona Volleyball team will travel to Hawaii to compete in the Chevron Rainbow Wahine Invitational to open the season. The Wildcats will play Wichita State on Aug. 26 at 5 p.m. HT, San Francisco on Aug. 27 at 5 p.m. HT and No. 10 Hawaii on Aug. 28 at 5 p.m. HT.
