WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - University of Arizona senior quarterback Jason Johnson was honored Monday as the Pacific-10 Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his record-setting performance in Arizona's 52-41 win Saturday over California. The award marks the first of Johnson's career and the second for the Wildcats this season.

Johnson, a native of Puyallup, Wash., completed 31-of-45 passes (.689) for 492 yards and four touchdowns. Johnson's 31 completions and the 492 yards are UA's single-game records. Johnson's 492-yard passing total is the second highest in the Pac-10 this season and the seventh best single-game performance in conference history.

Johnson has completed 222-of-379 passes for 3,058 yards this season, making him the first Wildcat quarterback to throw for 3,000 yards in a season. He is fifth all-time in career passing yardage (5,480 yards). Johnson also tops the single-season charts for most passing attempts (379) and most completions (222).

Earlier in the season, junior cornerback Michael Jolivette was named Pac-10 Special Teams Player of the Week for Sept. 3. Jolivette set a school record by blocking two punts in Arizona's season opener versus Northern Arizona.
