W Tennis Opens Fall Season

The University of Arizona women's tennis team opens its fall season in El Paso, Texas, at the Miner Invitational. Head coach Vicky Maes will accompany freshman newcomer Jane Huh and senior Camelia Todorova to El Paso. The Miner Invitational will be held at the El Paso Youth Tennis Center from Sept. 21-23. Other schools competing in the Miner Invitational include UTEP, Memphis, New Mexico State, Western New Mexico, Lee College and Monterrey Tech University (Mexico). The format for the tournament will be compass draws with four flights of singles for an overall total of 16 players in each flight and two flights of doubles.

Also this weekend two players from the women's team will be in Fresno, Calif., for the Bulldog Invitational. Natalia Toporowska and Katie Orletsky will be competing and be joined be assistant coach Brian Ramirez. This tournament is also a three day event with the final action on Sunday.
