TUCSON, Arizona (Ticker) -- LaKeisha Taylor came off the bench to score 20 points and Elizabeth Pickney added 19 and 11 rebounds as No. 23 Arizona held on to defeat Pac-10 Conference rival Oregon State, 83-73.
Arizona (16-5, 6-3 Pac-10) led by as many as 12 points in the second half, but Oregon State (11-8, 3-6) battled back late and cut the deficit to 74-72 on Felicia Ragland's 3-pointer with 2:42 remaining.
But Pickney hit a jumper on the Wildcats' ensuing possession and added two free throws to rebuild the lead to six with 48 seconds left. Krista Warren and Taylor combined to hit three more free throws to provide the final margin.
Arizona shot 58 percent (18-of-31) in the second half to finish at 52 percent (32-of-62). The Wildcats got a tremendous boost from their bench, outscoring the Beavers' reserves by a 38-23 margin.
Taylor was nearly perfect from the floor, hitting 9-of-10 shots while pulling down seven rebounds. Reshea Bristol scored 10 points and reserve Aimee Grzyb poured in 12 for Arizona.
The Wildcats have won consecutive games following a three-game losing streak, during which it averaged a dismal 60 points.
Ragland scored 29 points on 11-of-23 shooting but Oregon State was handed its third straight loss. The Beavers shot 45 percent (31-of-69).
