Arizona Head Coach Sean Miller
"If you look at our rebounding, it was much better today. Some of the best shots that Oakland got were second chance opportunities when we didn't get the defensive rebound. It just shows you how important finishing defensive possessions is."
On Oakland guard Reggie Hamilton:
"I know this crowd has seen a lot of good guards in this building over the years, but I don't think you'll find a better point guard in the country than Reggie Hamilton."
On Solomon Hill rebounding from a rough game vs. Gonzaga:
"It's easy to pile on after a guy after they have a bad game. It wasn't just Solomon; we didn't play well as a team and the coaches didn't coach well. You win as a team and you lose as a team. Today was, I think, Solomon's best game at Arizona. If you criticize him, you also have to give him praise. Solomon Hill was a big reason we won that game. I also want to point out that nobody on our team has worked harder than Solomon since we got back from Seattle. He's been putting in extra work and getting up extra shots every day since we've been back."
On Josiah Turner's impact on the game:
"Sometimes we don't play well in transition. Josiah got off to a slow start. He had a couple turnovers early, but after that, he really settled in and was instrumental in the run we put together in the second half."
Arizona Player Quotes
Kyle Fogg #21
On the pace of the game:
"We all came here to push the ball. Coach really focused on that in practice, we didn't push the ball enough against Gonzaga but we were able to do that tonight."
On guarding Reggie Hamilton
"He's a great player; he can shoot the ball and drive to the basket. You can see he's really confident. We focused on him, he still had a great game but we got the win."
On his 1,000th career point
"It feels good, it hasn't sunk in yet. I'm sure it will after the season."
On ball movement
"We played more together tonight. We didn't care who shot it, we just wanted to move the ball untill we got the best look."
Solomon Hill #44
On attacking and shot selection
"I sat down with coach and we looked at film of the San Diego State and Gonzaga games and talked about my shot selection. Those games took my mind so we looked at them. Gonzaga had their guy in the paint when I caught it. So if I just pass and screen it'll make my guy guard me and then I can get to the rim."
"Tonight I just played basketball and stayed within the team concepts."
On team going as Hill goes
"When I shoot poorly and turn the ball over, the record is there. In the games we win I'm shooting 50%, passing efficiently and rebounding. I play well when I let the game come to me. Against Gonzaga I forced the issue and it took me out of the game."
On pressure of being go-to-guy
"There's no pressure, I just stick with my team. I'm more effective with the team, it is actually more relaxing, and I don't feel pressure."
"I try to calm the team down and make those plays that will control the game."
