TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Jill Noe scored 22 points and Arizona State held No. 19 Arizona, the Pac-10's top offense, to 20 points below its average in a 73-58 upset Thursday night.

The Sun Devils (12-6, 4-5) committed just six turnovers in the second half to build on a 32-24 halftime lead. Arizona cut the Arizona State's lead to 44-41 with 11:39 left but couldn't get closer.

Dee-Dee Wheeler had 14 points to lead the Wildcats (12-5, 6-3), who shot 21-of-52 from the field for the game and didn't have an offensive rebound in the first half.

Jenny Thigpin, in her first start of the season, helped hold Arizona's Shawntinice Polk, the conference's second-leading scorer, to 11 points, seven below her average.

Polk didn't score a basket until there was 15:30 left in the game and was 3-of-7 from the field before fouling out with 7:13 left. Thigpin and Polk, both freshmen, were teammates at Hanford (Calif.) High School.

Carrie Buckner scored 10 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Sun Devils.

Arizona State got out to an early 17-4 lead after Arizona missed five of its first seven shots and made three quick turnovers in falling behind.

The Sun Devils outrebounded Arizona 22-10 in the first half and held Polk to just one field goal attempt.
