Eugene , Ore. ?C The Arizona volleyball team suffered its fifth-straight loss, falling to No. 16 Oregon in three games on Thursday night in McArthur Court.? Game scores were 30-20, 30-18 and 31-29.? With the loss, the Wildcats fall to 12-10, 2-8 Pac-10, while the Ducks improve to 16-6, 5-5 Pac-10.

As a team, Arizona hit .193 (40-18-114) from the floor, while Oregon posted an impressive .423 hitting percentage (59-12-111) on the night.? Each team notched four blocks, but the Ducks tallied six service aces to the Wildcatsˇ? three.

Individually for the Cats, freshman Tiffany Owens led the way with a team-high 16 kills on .324 hitting (16-5-34) while posting two service aces and four digs. Owens has now posted double figures in kills in three-straight matches, and six of the last eight.? Junior Brooke Buringrud tallied eight kills and junior Randy Goodenough finished with seven kills.? Freshman Paige Weber posted 29 assists.

Junior Gorana Maricic finished with a match-high 23 kills on .500 hitting (23-4-38) to lead Oregon.

Oregon started the match off hot, racing out to a 7-3 lead that expanded into a 14-8 advantage.? Arizona fought back, cutting the deficit to 16-14.? The Ducks responded with a 10-2 scoring run to lead 26-16, and cruised down the stretch to win 30-20.

UA and Oregon traded points early in game two, as the Wildcats trailed 13-10.? But the Ducks went on a 10-3 run to lead 23-13, and ran away with the game powered by a .594 hitting percentage (20-1-32) to win, 30-18.

Things were close throughout game three, as the Wildcats took their first lead of the match on an Oregon service error to open the game.? The game featured 14 ties and three lead changes, as Arizona held a 29-27 advantage late after a kill by Owens.? The Wildcats could not force a game four, however, as Oregon took advantage of a service error by Owens, two kills by Maricic, and an attack error by Buringrud to complete the sweep with a 31-29 win.

Arizona will face Oregon State tomorrow night in Gill Coliseum at 7 p.m.
