?

The win is the Cats third straight victory, bringing their record to 3-1-0, while the Longhorns suffered their first loss of the year, dropping them to 3-1-0.

?

The Wildcats scored their first of two goals at the 14:41 mark of the first half, when freshman Jasmin Day scored her second goal of the year.? Jasmine Namdar assisted Day by delivering her the ball, prior to Dayˇ?s score inside the goal box.

?

With 10 minutes remaining in the first half Texas had a chance to tie the score, but freshman goalkeeper Danielle Nicolai made a diving save for one of her five saves.

?

ˇ?Danielle had two huge savesˇ± said Arizona head coach Dan Tobias.? ˇ?This was her first career shutout and she did it against the No. 4 team in the country.ˇ±

?

The Wildcats have won all three of Nicolaiˇ?s goalkeeping decisions, after the North Tustin, Calif., native took over in goal.

?

Texas went on the attack in the second half, but couldnˇ?t get anything past Nicolai or her defense.??ˇ?Everyone did their part in getting this shutout,ˇ± said Nicolai.??ˇ?It wasnˇ?t just me; it was the other 10 players on the field, too.ˇ±

?

With less than three minutes to play the Cats put the game away with a goal by Laura Huylebroeck.? The sophomore forward took a pass from classmate Samantha Drees and beat Longhorns goalkeeper Dianna Pfenninger for the goal.

?

ˇ?This win is a nice step for us early in the season, but we are still only on game four,ˇ± Tobias said.? ˇ?This was an excellent team we just beat, and hopefully this will give us momentum heading to Virginia and beyond that, as well.ˇ±

?

Tonightˇ?s victory is Arizonaˇ?s first win over a ranked opponent since 2005, and the highest-ranked opponent UA has knocked off since a win over No. 4 Washington on Oct. 8, 2004.
