LOS ANGELES, Calif.--The No. 56 Arizona women's tennis team lost their final road match of the regular season 7-0 to No. 17 USC Saturday.

In doubles, the Cats lost the point, with losses at No. 1 and No. 2. At No. 3, the sophomore duo of Natasha Marks and Debora Castany fought back to bring up the deciding tiebreaker against USC's Fansler and Kinstler. The Wildcat duo kept up their momentum, taking the win at 8-7(5).

Singles play did not work out in the Wildcats' favor, with straight-set losses on all six courts.

At No. 1, Marks, ranked at No. 105, faced off with the No. 2 ranked player in the country, Maria Sanchez, and fell 6-1, 6-3, and it's was the loss at No. 3, senior Claire Reietsch falling 6-0, 6-2 to Danielle Lao, that clinched it for USC.

"This was a really tough weekend for us." Said head coach Vicky Maes, "Obviously, UCLA and USC are strong teams, but we never really got anything going. We don't play these teams as mentally tough as we need to, and it puts us at an even larger disadvantage. We have a week to get ready for our last home weekend, and we hope to regain some momentum."

With the loss, Arizona falls to 12-8, 1-6 Pac-10, and USC improves to 13-7, 5-1 Pac-10.

Arizona now returns home to wrap up the regular season. The Cats will host Sacramento State on Friday April 16 at 1:30 pm. On Saturday, April 17, Arizona will host conference rivals Arizona State at 1pm. Both matches will be held at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center.
