ANN ARBOR, Mich. ?- In the second game of the season, the 17th-ranked Arizona women’s soccer team (1-1-0) fell to Michigan (1-0-1), 1-0, in double overtime.

Both teams were scoreless in regulation with Arizona recording 15 shots while Michigan had 18.

Michigan’s Judy Coffman broke the tie in the second overtime period with a goal off of a set piece.

Chelsea McIntyre had seven saves for Wildcats in her third career start.

Head Coach Dan Tobias felt his team played well but that they just didn’t get the outcome they had hoped for.

“We did decent job defensively,” he said. “It was one of those games where it is a matter of key saves and they did a great job. They just kept hanging around and hanging around and it came down to a matter of chances. It is unfortunate to be on the road and most of the second half was played in a massive driving rain but we still kept the ball really well. It is another game that gives us some information about where we are and it isn’t going to determine the rest of our season. We’re a young group and we are encouraged with a lot of things we saw on the ball and off the ball.”

The Wildcats will take to the field again to face Utah State at 5 p.m. (MST) Friday, Sept. 1 in Salt Lake City, Utah as part of the Utah Fall Classic.
