Colorado Springs, Colo.- The 2010 Air Force Invitational ended on a happy note for the Wildcats.

In doubles play, Sarah Landsman and Jane Huh won 8-2 against the University of Northern Colorado team of Steph Catlin and Elizebeth Tapia. Freshman duo Kim Stubbe and Lacey Smyth played Allison Burckhartt and Leyla Simmons from Oklahoma State University for the championship. The Cats won 8-6 for the first collegiate championship for Stubbe and Smyth.

Singles play also ended well for the Wildcats today. Jane Huh played Steph Catlin from the University of Northern Colorado for a 6-2, 6-0 win. Sarah Landsman won 6-0, 6-2 against Tori Arneson from Colorado State University. Lacey Smyth played Synkova from WYO for the championship title. Lacey won her second title of the day 6-1, 6-2.

Head coach Vicky Maes was pleased with the results of the day. "It's always a good day when the whole team goes undefeated. It was great to see Lacey (singles and doubles) and Kim (doubles) get their first collegiate titles, but also nice to see Sarah and Jane end the tourney on a good note" Maes said. "I feel the weekend was successful on many levels and I am encouraged by the improvements everyone is making" Maes said.

The Wildcats next play at the University of California, Santa Barbara Friday Oct. 8 - Sunday Oct. 10.
