Tucson, Ariz. ?- Arizona volleyball incoming freshman Paige Weber has earned the 2006 Andi Collins Award, recognizing the nation’s best high school senior setter.  She has also been named the 2006 Gatorade Player of the Year for the state of Indiana.

“Paige is in very good company receiving those awards,” head coach Dave Rubio said.  “We are excited about her coming into our program and making an immediate impact on our 2007 team.”

The 5-foot-11 setter hails from Indianapolis, Ind., where she played volleyball at Indianapolis Roncalli HS and Circle City Volleyball Club.

Weber helped Indianapolis Roncalli claim the 2006 state championship, posting 40 assists, 11 kills to just one error, 15 digs, five service aces, and eight blocks in the championship match, extending her team’s winning streak to 23 matches to end the season.

Weber will report to Arizona in the fall of 2007.
