Wildcat Junior Varsity Women Take 21st in New Mexico

LAS CURCES, N.M. - The Wildcat's junior varsity team finished in 21st place at Price's "Give 'Em Five" Intercollegiate.

As a team, the Wildcats shot a 321 in round three and finished the tournament at
+97 (961).  Missouri shot a 299 in round three and won the tournament with an
891, two strokes better than tournament host, New Mexico State (893).

Whitney Welch led the Cats with a 236 tournament score and tied for 63rd place.
Junior Rachel Gavin continued to show improvement, shooting a +7 (79) in round
three.  Gavin finished tied for 70th place with 237.

Also competing for the Wildcats were freshmen Brooke Schneider (245), who tied
for 94th place, Marisa Smith (250), who tied for 101st place and Brittany
Pepler (261) who finished in 108th place.

Next up for the Wildcats is the Stanford-Pepsi Women's Intercollegiate in Palo
Alto, Calif.  The tournament runs Oct. 21-23.

The women's junior varsity team does not compete again until the beginning of
the spring season in February.
