In the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association men’s tennis rankings, the Arizona men’s team is ranked No.17, the highest ranking in head coach Tad Berkowitz tenure and the highest ranking since the end of the 1982-82 season when the Wildcats finished No. 16.
“I am really proud of the guys and how hard they have worked,” Berkowitz said. “I am really happy for the upperclassmen that were part of the team a couple years ago who were not even ranked in the top 75. This just shows how far we have come.”
“While it’s a nice accomplishment, we have to maintain our focus on New Mexico State, who is a very tough team,” Berkowitz said.
The Wildcats will take its highest ranking in 27 years and a seven-match win streak into the weekend against No. 70 New Mexico State on Friday and No. 75 UC Irvine on Sunday. Both matches will be played at the Tucson Racquet Club.
While this ranking is the highest in recent memory, the Wildcats have had some recent success.
