TUCSON, Ariz. ?- University of Arizona men’s basketball player Ivan Radenovic has been named the U.S. Bank Pacific-10 Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for December 25-31, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Radenovic, a 6-foot-10 froward from Belgrade, Serbia, led Arizona to a pair of wins to open conference play, averaging 19.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game, while shooting 61.9 percent (13-of-21) from the field.  The senior also connected on 11-of-12 (.917) free throws and added five steals and a pair of blocked shots as the Wildcats won its 11th consecutive game.

He opened the week with a 17-point, nine-rebound, four-assist effort vs. California in which he hit 6-of-7 shots from the floor and did not commit a turnover.  Radenovic added 22 points, six rebounds, five assists and four steals in Saturday’s win over Stanford, where 12 of his points came in the first half.

On the year, Radenovic leads the Wildcats with per game averages of 17.8 points and 7.4 rebounds, while shooting 58.8 percent from the field.

This is the first weekly honor for Radenovic and Arizona's 68th Player of the Week all-time. Radenovic is the second Wildcat to claim the honor this season, joining Chase Budinger on Nov. 20.

Seventh-ranked Arizona (11-1, 2-0 Pac-10) will next be in action on Thursday, Jan. 4, at No. 14 Washington.  The game is scheduled to tip off at 7:30 p.m. PST and can be seen nationally on Fox Sports Net.
