KINGSTON, R.I. ?- The No. 20 Arizona volleyball team improved to 7-1 on the season with a three-game sweep (30-23, 30-21, 30-24) of Rhode Island this evening.

Arizona hit .388 on the match, compared to the .155 of the Rams. The Wildcats also out-blocked Rhode Island 9-3 and had eight service aces on the match.

“It was really nice to play as well as we did,” Head Coach David Rubio said.

Senior Kim Glass led all players with 12 kills on .455 hitting. Senior Jennifer Abernathy added 11 kills and seven digs, while freshman Brittany Leonard tallied seven digs, as well.

Sophomore setter Amy Dyck finished with 40 assists, and Bre Ladd and Dominique Ladd each had three blocks to lead the Wildcats.

Arizona closes out the Rhode Island Invitational with a noon (EDT) match against North Carolina tomorrow, Sept. 17. If the Wildcats win, they will claim the tournament title.
