TUCSON, Ariz. - Eighth-seeded Arizona will play its opening round game of the 2010 State Farm Pac-10 Women's Basketball Tournament against 9th-seeded Washington State, Thursday evening at the Galen Center on the campus of USC with tip-off set for 6:00 p.m. (PT)
Arizona finished the regular season with a 13-16 record, including 6-12 in Pac-10 play. Washington State ended up the 2009-10 campaign at 8-21 overall with a 3-15 mark in conference play.
The Wildcats captured both meetings between the two teams during the regular season, earning a 67-60 win in Pullman on January 7 before claiming a 73-66 triumph at McKale Center on February 4.
The same two teams met last season in the opening round of the Pac-10 Tournament with the Cougars holding the higher of the two seeds. Arizona came away with a 79-72 win before the Wildcats fell to Stanford in the quarterfinal round.
Tickets for all Pac-10 Tournament sessions are avaiable on the Pac-10 website at www.pac-10.org. Live stats will be available for all games while there will also be a live video stream provided on the conference website for the first two rounds of play. Both semifinal contests as well as the championship game will be televised live on Fox Sports Net.
