Women's Golf Tied for Eighth at NCAA Central Regional

ANN ARBOR, Mich. ?- The Arizona women’s golf moved into a tie for eighth place heading into the final round of the NCAA Central Regional.  The Wildcats carded the third lowest round of the day, a 295 (+11) to match the University of Arkansas with a two round total of 592 (+24).  Southern Cal maintained the lead after to rounds with a score of 571 (+3), nine strokes ahead of Texas Christian University who sits in second place.


Vanderbilt’s Jacqui Concolino held onto her lead after carding a three-under par 68 on Friday.


Junior Alison Walshe jumped into a tie for tenth place after carding a two-over par 73.  The Westford, Mass., product recorded three birdies in the round, bringing her birdie total count to seven after two rounds of play.


Junior Mary Jacobs carded an even-par 71 on Friday, good enough to move from a tie for 44th place to a tie for 17th place.  The Godfrey, Ill., native is two strokes behind Walshe with a score of 147 (+5).


Sophomore Adriana Zwanck is tied for 27th place after two rounds of play, with a score of 149 (+7).  Two strokes behind the Madrid, Spain native is fellow sophomore Amanda Wilson, who is currently tied for 48th place.


Freshman Brittany Benvenuto carded an 80 (+9) during the second round, moving into a tie for 98th place with a score of 164 (+22).


The final round of the regional will be played tomorrow, with a tee time of 8:10 a.m. MST.
