LOS ANGELES- The No.17-ranked Arizona baseball team salvaged one win in its three-game weekend series against UCLA in Los Angeles on Sunday with a 12-10 win over the Bruins.

The victory evened Arizona's Pac-10 record at 3-3 and improved its overall record to 22-10 for the season. UCLA, which lost in conference play for the first time this season on Sunday, dropped to 16-16 overall and 2-1 in the Pac-10.

The Wildcats opened the scoring with four runs in the third and added three in the fourth, one each in the fifth and sixth and three in the seventh. Arizona rapped out 12 hits in the game to go along with five UCLA errors to avoid its first series sweep of the season. The win also snapped Arizona's season-high tying two game losing streak.

Reliever Sean Rierson (5-1) picked up his fifth win of the season with two innings of work out of the bullpen. The right-hander gave up one run on three hits with one strike out and no walks.

Offensively, Brian Anderson led all Arizona players with a 3 for 5, 4 RBI-day at the plate. The junior also hit his team leading ninth home run of the season in the game.

Arizona returns to Tucson and non-conference action next weekend with a three-game series against Miami (Ohio). First pitch in the series opener on Friday is set for 7 p.m.
