WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- Arizona senior catcher Jackie Coburn has been named the Pacific-10 Conference Softball Player of the Week for Mar. 15-21, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Coburn, from Phoenix, Ariz., hit .357, and led the Wildcats offensively with three home runs and two doubles over six games in Arizona’s second-place finish in the Kia Klassic in Fullerton, Calif., last weekend. She combined for 10 RBI, which were half of the team’s total for the tournament and tallied 16 total bases. Defensively, Coburn started all six games behind the plate, the first time she has done so this year. Her error-free effort behind the plate helped UA’s pitchers to a 0.82 ERA on the weekend, and she also threw out two base runners.
This is the second weekly honor for Coburn and the 93rd all-time for the Wildcats.
