TUCSON - The University of Arizona Wildcat No. 22 men’s and No. 6 women’s track and field teams will compete in the 55th annual Mt. SAC Relays. The Wildcats are set to compete on April 18-20 at Hilmer Lodge Stadium in Walnut, Calif. Thursday’s competition is set to begin for the Wildcats at 1:30 p.m. PST. On Friday, competition will begin at 10 a.m. PST. Saturday’s competition will commence at 11 a.m.

Arizona will compete against Arizona State (M: 18, W: 8), Arkansas (M: 2, W: 10), Colorado (M: NR, W: 23), Georgia (M: NR, W: 12), Iowa State (M: NR, W: 16), Kansas State (M: 21, W: NR), Oklahoma State (M: 23, W: NR), Oregon (M: 4, W: 3), Texas (M: 6, W: 7), Texas Tech (M: 16, W: 15), UCLA (M: 13, W: 20), USC (M: 8, W: NR), Washington (M: NR, W: 14) and many other schools as well as professional athletes.

In the USTFCCCA week three national poll, the UA men’s squad slid one spot to now sit at No. 22. The women remain the sixth-best team in the country at this point. Four other Pac-12 schools in the national poll accompany the UA men. Oregon is still fourth, USC remains eighth, UCLA dropped one spot to 12th and Arizona State dropped one spot to 18th. The Pac-12 has six schools joining Arizona’s women in the national poll. Oregon fell one spot to No. 3. Arizona State stayed at No. 8. Stanford did not move from the No. 9 spot. Washington dropped one spot to No. 14. UCLA climbed one spot to No. 20 and Colorado stayed at No. 23.

For the women, sophomore Clea Formaz will compete in the olympic development section of the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase on Thursday at 5:15 p.m. Sophomore Stephanie Bulder will also compete in the steeplechase but in the open “A” section at 8:20 p.m. on Thursday.

Senior Shale’ Garland will run in heat three of the open 400-meter race on Friday at 11:40 p.m. Junior Tamara Pridgett is set to run in heat four of the same race. Freshman Traci-Lynn Hicks will run in heat one of the open 100-meter hurdles on Friday at 2:55 p.m. Poston will return to the track at 4:20 p.m. on Friday and run in heat one of the 200-meter dash. Senior Georganne Moline will compete in heat two of the same race, Garland will compete in heat three and Pridgett will compete in heat four. Senior Jen Bergman is set to run in the invitational elite section of the women’s 5,000-meter race that will begin at 7:40 p.m. on Friday. Sophomore Nicci Corbin will run the 5K in the olympic development section at 8 p.m. Senior Asia Easley will throw the javelin at 10 a.m. on Friday in the open section. Senior Taylor Freeman will compete in the open section of the shot put on Friday at 10:30 a.m. Freeman will also throw in the open section of the hammer throw at 2 p.m. on Friday along with sophomore Baillie Gibson. Freeman, Gibson, senior Alyssa Hasslen and junior Julie Labonté will all throw in the invitational elite section of the women’s discus at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

On Saturday, junior Omotayo Talabi will compete in the invitational elite section of the shot put at 1 p.m. Senior Brigetta Barrett is set to compete in the invitational elite section of the high jump at 1:30 p.m. along with former Wildcat Liz Patterson.

For the men, sophomore Sam Macaluso will run in heat seven of the men’s open 1,500-meter race at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. Junior Sean Delfani is set to run in heat one of open 400-meter run on Friday at 12:10 p.m. Senior Clifton Leake is set to run in heat two of the same race. Sophomore Lezo Urreiztieta will run 3:20 p.m. in heat four of the 110-meter hurdles. Freshman Bernard Dickerson-Quinn is set to run in heat seven of the men’s 200-meter dash at 4:40 p.m. on Friday. Macaluso will run the 5K in the olympic development section at 10:15 p.m. on Friday along with sophomore Jonny Giess will compete in the open section of the men’s high jump at 4 p.m. on Friday.

On Saturday, Dickerson-Quinn will run in the invitational elite section of the 400-meter sprint at 11:55 a.m. The quartet of sophomore Thomas Moronta, Dickerson-Quinn, Leake and senior Elliot Taylor will compete in the invitational elite section of the men’s 4x100-meter relay at 1:35 p.m. Leake will compete in the olympic development section of the 400-meter hurdles at 5:25 p.m. Senior Tyler Johnson will throw the hammer in the invitational elite section at 1:30 p.m. At 4 p.m. on Saturday, senior Edgar Rivera-Morales will compete in the invitational elite section of the high jump. Nick Ross will also be competing in the high jump competition as an unattached athlete.
