CHICAGO, Ill. - Arizona sophomore golfer Erica Blasberg was named to the Division I First Team All-American, by the National Golf Coaches Association on Monday.
As a sophomore, Blasberg helped the Wildcats to seven top-five finishes. Blasberg individually, finished eight times in the top-10. Additionally, for the second consecutive year Blasberg was named to the Pac-10 First Team. The Corona, Calif. native boasted a 72.29 stroke average in ten collegiate events this season.
During the fall season Blasberg grabbed three consecutive individual tournament honors, and added to her victories in the spring, by winning the NCAA Central Regional in Normal, Ill. Blasberg shot a 1-under-par 212 at the Regional.
Blasberg's inclusion on the First Team All-American marks the ninth straight year an Arizona women's golfer has received the honor. In addition, this will mark the seventh time a Arizona women's golfer has been on the First Team All-American more than once, during their collegiate career as a Wildcat.
