TUCSON -The University of Arizona Wildcat women's golf team earned a sixth-place finish on the final day of competition at the Betsy Rawls Invitational, in Austin, Texas, on Wednesday. The three-round event was held at the University of Texas Golf Club (par 72, 6,344 yards). The fall season concluded with today's round and this week's event.
Arizona earned a sixth-place finish with rounds of 304, 294 and 300 for a total of 898 (+34). The hosting Texas Longhorns won the event with an 880 (+16). Florida, Pepperdine and Tulsa shared second place with scores of 892 (+28). Nicole Vandermade of Texas won the individual race with a score of 214 (-2). She shot rounds of 72, 73 and 69.
Freshman Andrea Vilarasau was Arizona's top finisher in a two-way tie for eighth place. She carded rounds of 76, 68 and 75 for a three-day total of 219 (+3). Senior Isabelle Boineau finished in a three-way tie for 19th. She collected scores of 73, 76 and 76 for total of 225 (+9). Senior Margarita Ramos shot rounds of 79, 76 and 71 (226 (+10) for a tied for 22nd-place finish. Sophomore Haley Andreas finished in a six-way tie for 38th with her three-round score of 230 (+14) after collecting rounds of 76, 74 and 80. Junior Kyndall Ardoin rounded out the Arizona five in a tie for 61st place. She picked up a score of 236 (+20) with rounds of 80, 78 and 78.
Arizona will open the spring portion of the season with the hosting of the Wildcat Invitational, Feb. 5-7, at the Golf Club at Vistoso.
