TUCSON , Ariz. ?C The University of Arizona womenˇ?s golf team begins play Monday at the 2008 Northrop Grumman Challenge in Palos Verdes, Calif.

?

The 15-team event is hosted by Ohio State University and is scheduled for Monday-Wednesday, Feb. 11-13, at Palos Verdes Golf Club, a par-71, 5,912-yard layout. The 54-hole event features 18 holes each day.

?

In addition to Arizona, the field includes Arizona State, Brigham Young, Denver, Florida, Michigan, Oklahoma State, Pepperdine, Stanford, TCU, Texas A&M, UCLA, USC, Wake Forest and host Ohio State.

ˇ?Our team?has been working very hard in the off-season?on our short game and course management,ˇ± said Arizona head coach Shelly Haywood.? ˇ?I don't think I have seen this team more prepared to start the spring season, both physically and mentally.? We have incredible team chemistry right now and we are ready to show the rest of the country just how good we can be.ˇ±
