Arizona Head Coach Sean Miller
"Oregon State did a great job today. They executed what they do very well, and made some very big shots. Their defense definitely had us on our heels and our confidence was way down today. I give them a lot of credit. They lost their last game at Arizona State, and were able to put in behind them and win here, and that's hard to do with a crowd like ours. Our crowd is really spectacular. They really tried to push us to a win, but we really had no answer."
"From a coaching standpoint, this is probably the worst I've ever felt. It's our job to get our guys ready and make sure everyone is on the same page. Today, that didn't happen. It's a disappointing as can be, especially from an athletic perspective."
On No. 42 Jamelle Horne
"Lately Jamelle has been criticized for not getting a lot of boards, but I think that he had a great game tonight. I'm very happy for him, even though it is difficult to have it happen on a loss."
"Oregon State has the best three point defense percentage in the conference, and today they came here and did what they do best. Sure we had some good shots that didn't go in, but they were really up on us."
"I really feel that we have reverted to the team we were back in November or December. There was a big lack of effort from a number of players today. Yes, we played at a very high level of defense for about eight minutes, where we came back and tied the game, but you can't win if you play without effort for ten minutes.
"We play with a chin-on-shoulder defense, and because of that we have to live with giving up some backdoors. We really got what we deserved today. We've got a week to recover, and I won't say we have to start from square one, but we have to more forward. We have a very resilient group of guys, and have gone through a lot of tough moments. Winning as a team is great, and losing as a team is not so fun, but it's all things we just have to move on fro. We got what we deserved and now its time to work on what needs fixing and move on."
Arizona Player Quotes
On the game:
"I'm just disappointed. Oregon State came in and did what they do. They just outplayed us. We just have to stay with it. Teams go through bumps in the road and that's all this is. Even if a team is undefeated they're still going to hit bumps in the road. We will come back though."
On the 13-3 run by Oregon State in the second half after Arizona had tied the game: "It was tough. It hurt us. I think everyone could tell that it hurt us. If you're a basketball fan you could tell we were hurting just by the looks on our faces. It cut our momentum from under 15."
On Oregon's State's offense:
"It was tough because we couldn't put it together on the defensive end when we needed to. It was frustrating when they kept going backdoor, but they just wanted it more than we did."
