TUCSON, Ariz. - The University of Arizona completed the third and final day of the Pacific-10 Championships this afternoon. On the men's side of the event the Cats took home first, second and third place on the platform. While on the women's end Southern California placed first and second and UCLA finished third also on the platform. The three day event took place at the Hillenbrand Aquatic Center on the University of Arizona campus.
Arizona senior All-American Omar Ojeda won the Pac-10 title today in the platform event, scoring 519.60 points. This marked the second straight year that Ojeda swept all three diving events at the Pac-10 Championships. In second place today was Arizona sophomore Josh Anderson with a point total of 518.50. Wildcat senior All-American Ruben Vaca placed third with 481.45 points. Arizona State's Gordon Blukis placed fourth with 463.30 points. Rounding out the Arizona divers was junior Scott Koenig finishing in fifth place (458.15).
For the Pac-10 women USC's Nicci Fusaro won the title on the platform this afternoon with 474.60 points. Fellow Trojan Blythe Hartley was the runner-up, scoring 463.95 points. In third place was UCLA's Regan Gosnell (421.30). Arizona's Claire Febvay placed fourth with a point total of 420.20.
Arizona will next travel to Palo Alto, Calif. for the Zone E Diving Championships at Stanford. The event will take place March 14-16.
