Arizona Men?s Tennis Continue Play In Crimson Tide Fall Invitational

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. ?- The Arizona men’s tennis concluded play on Saturday, in the Crimson Tide Fall Invitational in Tuscaloosa, Ala.


In singles action, the Wildcats had a decent showing as they went 1-2 against some very tough opponents. In the quarterfinal round, freshman Luka Cerenko started the Wildcats off strong as he defeated Christian Rybertt of Samford, 6-4, 6-3. Sophomore Jason Labrosse, had a tougher day, as he fell to Marek Dvorak, 6-2, 6-4, to end his tournament play. Later on in the afternoon, Cerenko also wrapped up his singles play as he fell to Joe Bates of Wake Forest, 6-3, 6-2.


In doubles, the Wildcats went 1 and 1 on the day with a chance to still bring home the doubles win. Cerenko and doubles partner Marko Miklo were forced to withdraw due to injury against Reid Bourgeois and Chris Rea of MSU. However doubles partners Labrosse and Mulane were able to defeat Florent Girod and Josh Irey of MSU, 8-2.


Labrosse and Mulane will be the only Wildcat players in action tomorrow as they face off against Maurico Engler and Richard Turner of Birmingham State at 11 a.m. tomorrow.
