Final Stats

Pitcher Jennie Finch struck out eight batters and had her 12th shutout of the season to lead the Cats to a 4-0 victory over Oregon State.

Arizona scored three of its runs in the first inning. Junior Lovie Jung and sophomore Leneah Manuma reached base on a walk by Oregon State pitcher Monica Hoffman. Jung scored and Manuma advanced to third on a double to left field by senior Jennie Finch. Sophomore Mackenzie Vandergeest singled to right field to bring home Manuma and Finch.

In the sixth inning, Finch doubled to center field and Rebekah Quiroz pinch ran for Finch. Quiroz advanced to third on a wild pitch. Vandergeest got on base by a walk, and Carrie Hagen pinch ran for Vandergeest. Freshman Jackie Coburn struck out swinging, Hagen stole second and freshman Candace Abrams struck out looking. Sophomore Jenny Gladding singled to center field to score Quiroz.

Finch improved her record to 21-1 on the season and the Cats improved to 36-5. Arizona faces Oregon on Saturday, April 13 at 2 p.m., and on Sunday, April 14 at 1 p.m.
