Top Times To Date Get Acrobat Reader

TUCSON, Ariz. - In the second edition of the TYR/CSCAA College Swimming rankings released Thursday, the Arizona swimming and diving men's team moved up three places the No. 2 overall nationally.  The UA women's team charts in at No. 7 in the country additionally.


The Wildcats are fresh off several impressive performances at the Texas Hall of Fame Invitational where they posted eight NCAA automatic cut times in relay events among other standout swims.


The men's team, boosted by swims from Nimrod Shapira Bar-Or, Cory Chitwood, A.J. Tipton, Adam Small, Kelley Wyman and Austen Thompson rank in only behind No. 1 Texas.  The Wildcats and Longhorns will meet up once again in their annual dual meet at the end of January, this season in Austin, Texas.


For the women, several freshmen including Kait Flederbach and Sarah Denninghoff had terrific results in their first time swimming at the December Hall of Fame Invitational.  Alyssa Anderson and Margo Geer also shined for Arizona by posting a plethora of top 10 times in the country.


After a break for the holidays, the swimmers and divers will return to Tucson on Dec. 27 where they'll tune up for a dual meet against Oregon State and Northern Arizona on Jan. 7.
