Women's Golf Tied for Fifth At Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge

PALOS VERDES, Calif. ?- The Arizona women’s golf team completed the second round of the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge tied for fifth after carding a 307 (+17) on Tuesday.  The Wildcats have totaled 608 (+40) after two rounds of play, putting them 14 strokes behind the leader.


The second round proved to be tough for all teams, as the leader, Pepperdine, completed the day with a total score of 594 (+26).


Sophomore Adriana Zwanck had another strong day for the Wildcats, shooting a five-over par 76 to stand in a tie for third.  Through two rounds, Zwanck has shot a 146 (+4).


Junior Alison Walshe moved into a tie for 11th after also carding a five-over par 76 in the second round, bringing her two round total to 149 (+7).


Junior Mary Jacobs is tied for 17th after shooting a team-low 74 (+3) for the day.


Freshman Emily Mason is tied for 68th after carding a ten-over par 81.  The Highland, Calif., native has totaled a 165 (+23) through two rounds.


Senior Rachel Gavin shot a 92 (+21) in the second round, bringing her two-day total to 173 (+31).  The lone senior on the Wildcat squad stands in 78th place.


The tournament continues tomorrow, with a final round tee time of 8:00am.
