Wildcats Mourn Former Women's Golf Star

TUCSON - Former Arizona women's golf all-American and LPGA member Erica Blasberg passed away at the age of 25 on Sunday.

Blasberg was a 2-time all-American for the Wildcats in 2003 and 2004, winning six times over her two seasons at Arizona. She was the 2003 Pac-10 Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year and won the Golfstat Cup after recording the lowest average scoring total for the 2003 season.

A native of Corona, Calif., Blasberg joined the LPGA tour in 2005 and had played in one event in 2010, the Tres Marias Championship, where she finished tied for 44th.
