PULLMAN, Wash.--The Arizona women's soccer team wrapped their weekend in Washington with a 1-0 loss to Washington State, Sunday.
Freshman Ana Montoya led Arizona (4-7-2, 0-2-0 Pac-10) with a pair of shot attempts. Freshmen Jazmin Ponce and Shannon Heinzler, sophomores Ariel Boulicault, Alex Smith, Kristin Strother and Brittany Cole, and senior Becky Barry combined for the Wildcats' other seven shot attempts.
Washington State (6-7-0, 1-1-0 Pac-10) scored the lone goal of the game in the 34th minute, when freshman Katie Turney netted the ball off a cross from fellow freshman Micaela Castain.
Along with the one goal allowed, junior GK Ashley Jett nabbed seven shots attempts in ninety minutes in the net.
On the day, the Wildcats were outshot 20-9 by the Cougars, but had a 9-5 advantage in corner kicks.
Up next, Arizona will head up I-10 to Tempe to take on conference rival Arizona State in the State Farm Territorial Cup showdown on Friday, October 15 at 7 p.m.
