Arizona Swimmers Represent Well at World University Games

SHENZHEN, CHINA -

Former Arizona swimmer Annie Chandler (San Antonio, Texas) won the 50-meter breast and earned a gold medal at the World University Games in Shenzhen, China.

Chandler joined American teammate Tim Phillips and the Women’s 4x200m Free Relay in earning the day’s gold medals.

In addition, current Arizona redshirt-senior Cory Chitwood (Union, Ky.) came in fifth with his time of 2:00.53 in the men’s 200-meter medley.

The 2011 World University Games continue on Thursday with prelims beginning at 9 a.m. (local time) and finals starting at 7 p.m. For more results, please visit the World University Games results page at http://match.sz2011.org/Result_ENG.htm.
