Wildcat Men's Tennis Falls in Qualifying Round

Tucson, Ariz. - Senior Steven Capriati lost in the qualifying tournament of the ITA All-American Championships Tuesday in Stone Mountain, Ga.

Capriati fell to Auburn's Andrew Colombo, 6-4, 6-4. Capriati played the first round of singles in the qualifying tournament and the loss ended the Wildcats' run at the ITA All-American Championships.

The ITA Men's All-American Championships features 15 of the top 20 players in the country. This tournament includes prequalifying and qualifying tournaments and doubles competitions. The men's championships, which is the nation's largest collegiate tennis tournament, has a 256-player prequalifying tournament Oct. 5-8 and 64-player qualifying tournament Oct. 9-10.

The men's tennis team will resume action at the University of San Diego All-Collegiate Tournament, Oct. 12-14.
