TUCSON, Ariz. ?C The University of Arizona menˇ?s golf team shot a 296 Tuesday and finished in 17th place at the Isleworth-UCF Collegiate Invitational in Windermere, Fla.

Arizonaˇ?s final-round 296 (+8) was its lowest of the tournament, but it wasnˇ?t enough to improve its leader board status. UAˇ?s three-round total of 896 (+32) kept the Wildcats in 17th place, 55 strokes behind the tournament-winner Georgia. Clemson (862), USC (863), Oklahoma State (866) and Wake Forest (868) rounded out the top-five places in the 18-team field.

Tarquin MacManus, the only Wildcat under par in the tournament, shot a final-round 74 (+2) and finished in a tie for 10th place at two-under 214. It was the second consecutive top-10 finish for the Cairns, Queensland, Australia, native. MacManus finished nine strokes in back of Georgiaˇ?s Harris English, who claimed individual medalist honors at 11-under 205.

Senior Creighton Honeck posted Arizonaˇ?s low round of the day, a one-under 71, to move into a tie for 56th place. Honeck, who finished at eight-over 224, was the only Wildcat besides MacManus to post a score under par.

Senior Trey Denton and junior Tyler Neal each tied for 71st place at 13-over 229. Freshman Andrew Kelly finished in 90th place at 39-over 255.

The Isleworth-UCF Collegiate Invitational was contested at Isleworth Golf & Country Club, a par 72, 7,449-yard layout. Arizona will next be in action on Nov. 2-4 at the CordeValle Collegiate in San Martin, Calif.
