Head Coach Joan Bonvicini:
"It was a battle out there. Arizona State makes you play physical. We had some good back door plays. We forced them into a lot of turnovers."
"I thought our players were back on their heels in the beginning. I tried to build some confidence in them. We were taking bad shots in the beginning, but picked it up later in the half."
"It will be a great game (Arizona vs. Stanford 2/27), they are a great team. We have two games left and we are going to enjoy them. The team will get a well deserved day off tomorrow."
Arizona State Head Coach
Charli Turner Thorne
"We started the game out more aggressively, then they (Arizona) took over and started playing us aggressively and we were unable to match it."
"We kind of got away from what we were doing early in the game. We came out pressuring early and executing the things we have been doing in practice, but once they (Arizona) responded and pressured us, we didn't execute."
"We are not very far away from being the team you saw play in the first four minutes of the game, and that is just something we are going to have to try and figure out. We just need to continue to battle hard for 40 minutes with the style of play we know."
"We are just going about adversity in games the wrong way. Part of that is because we are going through it together for the first time. We haven't been in tense game-like situations together, it is just something we have to work through in order to compete in this tough conference."
"If you look at the stats for our last few games we have out-rebounded, out-shot and out-played teams in a lot of areas, but our turnovers have cost us. We are not really being out-played, we are just doing it to ourselves."
