Women's Tennis Faces Top-10 Teams on the Road

TUCSON, Ariz. -

Arizona Women’s Tennis (12-4, 2-1) will continue Pac-12 Conference play as it heads to California to take on a pair of top-10 teams. The No. 28 Wildcats will face No. 9 California (13-4, 5-0) on Friday, March 30 at 1:30 p.m. PT and No. 6 Stanford (10-0, 4-0) on Saturday, March 31 at noon.

Arizona is coming off a weekend sweep at home after defeating No. 36 Washington, 4-3, and No. 72 Oregon, 6-1.

The Wildcats have kept up a strong showing in doubles play, extending their streak to seven-straight matches of winning the doubles point.

The Bears boast five players in the top 90, including No. 5 Jana Juricova, No. 14 Zsofi Susanyi, No. 53 Tayler Davis, No. 72 Anett Schutting and No. 90 Annie Goransson. In addition, Schutting and Goransson pair up for the country’s No. 23-ranked doubles team and Juricova and Susanyi are ranked No. 41.

The Cardinal has not lost a match in spring competition and features four players in the top 60, including two in the top five. Nicole Gibbs is ranked No. 3, Mallory Burdette is No. 4, Stacey Tan is No. 45 and Ellen Tsay is No. 59. Together, Burdette and Gibbs make up the nation’s No. 3-ranked doubles team and Tsay and Tan are ranked No. 43.
