TUCSON, Ariz. - University of Arizona junior swimmer Alyssa Anderson was named the Counsilman-Hunsaker National Collegiate Swimmer-of-the-Week by today after her performance last weekend against Arizona State.

Against the Sun Devils, Anderson posted three event wins while collecting two NCAA consideration times as she led her team to a 177-123 win over its in-state rival.  Anderson began the afternoon by winning the women's 200 butterfly in 1:57.59 for her first "B" cut time.

In the women's 500 free, an event that Anderson currently holds the fastest time in the country, she won easily and posted her second "B" cut of the afternoon, finishing in 4:50.19.

To close the day, Anderson again proved victorious, this time in the women's 200 individual medley as she out-paced the field to win in 2:02.51.

Anderson continues to add the accolades this season in her lead up to the NCAA Championships in March.  Last week, she was named to represent the United States at the World University Games later this summer in Shenzhen, China.

The Arizona women's team and divers will depart next week for the Pac-10 Championships in Federal Way, Wash.  The four-day meet will begin on Wed. Feb. 23 with the men's 1-meter diving event, 200 medley relay and the 800 freestyle relay.
