Productive Day at CSUN for TennisCats

The results of the first day at the CSUN Invitational landed both doubles teams in the semifinals and all four players in the singles quarterfinals.

Junior duo Sarah Landsman and Natasha Marks teamed up to beat the Cal State Stanislaus team of Katie Eng and Vanesa Reibstein, 8-4. The freshman team of Susan Mc Rann and Lacey Smyth beat University of Montana's team of Rebecca Bran and Whitney Paluch, 8-3. Both Arizona teams will compete in the Flight A doubles semifinals Saturday, November 13 at 9 a.m.

Marks competed against Nigora Sirojiddinova for a 2-0 win in round of 16. Landsman beat Vanesa Reibstein from Cal State Stanislaus, 1-1. Mc Rann won her round of 16 match against Ryma Korab from Cal State Northridge, 4-6 6-3 6-4. Smyth beat Nina Jaworowski from Cal State Northridge, 5-0 and went on to win her round of 16 match against Verena Preikschas from Cal State Stanislaus, 5-3. All four players will move on to the quarterfinals on Saturday.

"Its great to see the girls persevere and get better through the year," said assistant coach Ryan Stotland. Today turned out to be a perfect day even though not everything went as planned the girls worked through it and ended with great results."
