Five Cats to Compete at Aztec Invite

SAN DIEGO ­- The University of Arizona men's tennis team sends five guys to the Aztec Invitational to take on the likes of USC, University of San Diego, UC San Diego, Pacific, San Francisco, UC Riverside, UC Irvine and host San Diego State. Play begins tomorrow and continues through Sunday at the Aztec Tennis Center. 

 

"The boys have been working hard and are very excited with the opportunity to be playing in the SDSU Invite," said assistant coach Tom Lloyd.

 

Coach Lloyd will be traveling with senior Jay Goldman, redshirt junior David Humphreys, redshirt sophomore Tom Wolff, sophomore Frank Chen and freshman Mario Urquidi.    

 

Wolff and Chen will team up to compete in the doubles competition tomorrow along with the duo of Humphreys and Urquidi.  Doubles will begin at 10:30 a.m. PST followed by singles.

 

The Wildcats will face four out of the seven teams that are in the Invitational during the regular season in the spring.   

 

Draw times will be determined Friday morning.
