Tucson - The Arizona Wildcat men's tennis team announced its 2011-12 competition schedule on Tuesday. This year's slate includes expanded Pac-12 play with a match against Utah to be held in Tucson, Ariz.
The Cats begin their fall season in Las Cruses, N.M. at the New Mexico State University Invitational. Arizona will compete in a total of six tournaments during the fall season ending with the Lakewood Ranch Collegiate Invitational in Sarasota, Fla.
To kick off the spring season, Arizona will host Northern Arizona University on Jan. 21. In non-conference play, the Wildcats will host 11 teams from around the country, as well as traveling to take on teams including Boise State and DePaul.
On March 30, the Cats open conference play at Arizona's own LaNelle Robson Tennis Center. The team will begin conference action against Stanford and conclude the season against Pac-12 newcomer Utah.
Postseason competition will begin with the Pac-12 Championships, held in Ojai, Calif. April 26-29.
Arizona features a young team of eight players for the fall slate and will pick up additional players at the start of the spring season.
