TULSA- As the only Wildcat standing in the second round of the qualifying draw at the All-American Championships Jay Goldman had a difficult match up against Jason Jung, ranked 28th in the qualifying brackets. Goldman defeated Jung of Michigan in three sets 2-6, 6-1, 6-4 to advance to the third round.

"I thought Jay played a complete game today," head coach Tad Berkowitz said. "The hope is that Jay continues to play the way he is capable of playing."

A native of Worcester, Mass., Goldman advances to the third round where he will face Michael Shabaz of Virginia. Shabaz advances to the third round by defeating Sasha Heinemann of Hawaii 6-2, 6-3.

NOTES:

In the consolation bracket Jason Zafiros defeated Eoin Heavey of California 0-6, 7-5, Def. Andres Carrasco defeated Matteo Fago of Tennessee 2-6, 7-5,10-6.
