Todd Holthaus is in his second season on the Wildcat staff, where he is responsible for post player development, recruiting, scouting, floor work and assisting with the Joan Bonvicini Hoop Camp.
Holthaus came to Arizona after a highly successful stint as the girls’ varsity head coach at Flowing Wells High School in Tucson. He posted a career record of 160-64 (.714) in seven years at FWHS and led the Lady Cabs to seven consecutive state tournament appearances. Included in the run were two region championships, two conference championships and a region tournament title.
His on-court success did not go unrecognized, as Holthaus was named Class 5A Southern Region Coach of the Year by the southern region coaches in each of his last four seasons (2002-05). In addition, he earned Southern Arizona Coach of the Year honors from the Arizona Daily Star in 2005.
From 2001-05, Holthaus was the Class 5A Girls’ Coaches Representative, where he served as a liaison between the Arizona Interscholastic Association and region coaches. While a representative, he helped organize the 5A Southern Region tournament.
A 1995 graduate of Grand Canyon University, Holthaus was a Dean’s List student who earned a bachelor of science degree in elementary education. He earned GTE/CoSIDA Academic All-America honors in 1993 and was the GCU Distinguished Male Athlete Award winner, as well.
Holthaus and his wife, Jennifer, have two daughters, Makayla and Annalise, and a son, Kyler.
