TUCSON –The University of Arizona Wildcat women’s golf team wrapped up play at the PING/ASU Invitational with a 10th place finish on Sunday. Held at the ASU Karsten Golf Course (par 71, 6,099 yards) in Tempe, Ariz., competition took place Fri.-Sun., March 30-April 1.
No. 1 UCLA won the team race with a three-day score of 857 (+5). No. 5 Arizona State finished second with an 869 (+17). No. 13 Texas A&M rounded out the top three with an 873 (+21). No. 19 Arizona finished 10th, firing an 889 (+37). Ani Gulugian of UCLA and Demi Runas of UC Davis shared the individual title with three-round scores of 212 (-1).
Senior Margarita Ramos moved up 11 places on the final day of play to finish tied for 15th. She had a score of 218 (+5) with rounds of 72, 74 and 72. Freshman Manon Gidali fell 21 spots on the final day of play with a round of 80. She had a score of 223 (+10). Senior Isabelle Boineau moved up 10 places on Sunday, firing a 75. She collected a three-round score of 224 (+11) with rounds of 75 and 74, in addition to her final round of 75.
Junior Kyndall Ardoin, playing as an individual, and senior Nikki Koller finish tied for 51st with scores of 227 (+14). Ardoin had rounds of 71, 77 and 79 while Koller shot rounds of 76, 74 and 77. Freshman Andrea Vilarasau rounded out the Arizona five in tied for 78th place. She collected a score of 235 (+22) with individual rounds of 79, 79 and 77.
Arizona will play next at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate, April 16-17, in San Francisco, Calif.
